Job summary

Larbey Evans, an international US law firm, seeks a Finance Assistant in its London office to join a collaborative finance team. The role offers a hybrid setup (4 days in office / 1 remote) and exposure to day-to-day transactional and operational finance duties.

You will support data entry, invoice processing, billing, supplier payments, and expense processing while ensuring compliance with SRA guidelines. Strong Excel skills and legal accounting software proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 months legal accounts experience within a city based law firm.
  • Good knowledge of SRA guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of legal accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
  • Excellent IT and IT troubleshooting skills, and able to pick up new systems with a logical approach.
  • Time management and organisation skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day finance function, including data entry, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Provide end-to-end billing support, including preparing client bills, managing time entries and transfers, editing narratives, and ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including third-party vendor invoices, reconciliations, monitoring outstanding payments, and maintaining related Excel trackers.
  • Prepare and process employee expenses in line with firm policies.
  • Produce financial reports, analytics, and Excel-based documentation, including WIP and time summary reports, to support the Legal Support Team.
  • Work closely with legal teams to resolve billing queries and discrepancies, providing responsive finance support.
  • Reconcile the IPO account, process IPO invoices, and maintain associated records.
  • Support Client Account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules, firm policies, and internal financial controls.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, archiving, and document management.

Finance Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:
