Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in project accounting, financial reporting, cost controlling, or management accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP accounting systems (Spiridon) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accruals, cost centres, month-end routines, and cost forecasting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Digital mindset with familiarity with automation tools like Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Month-End, quarter-end, and year-end reporting in line with Siemens guidelines.
  • Assist in monthly project forecasts, cost centre forecasting, headcount tracking, and budgets.
  • Update PoC models, monitor project costs, track NCCs, and investigate variances.
  • Maintain Risk & Opportunity Registers and assist ICFR/audit requirements.
  • Capture costs for Additional Services, Claims, Variation Orders; manage GRIR balances and invoicing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting through automation.

Job description

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of Siemens UK. This role is essential for supporting the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme (DTUP) for the London Piccadilly line, working closely with the Commercial Manager across key project workstreams including Commissioning, Stabling, CMA, Retrofit, and Engineering.

Job Purpose

To provide day-to-day project accounting, financial controlling, and reporting support across multiple project activities. You will collaborate with Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial forecasting, maintain cost control, and deliver insightful analysis to drive financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Month-End & Financial Reporting: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes in compliance with Siemens guidelines; maintain accounting principles, accruals, and cost centre controls.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in preparing monthly project forecasts, cost centre forecasting, headcount tracking, and annual budgets.
  • Project Accounting & Cost Control: Update and maintain Percentage of Completion (PoC) models, monitor project costs, track Non-Conformance Costs (NCC), and investigate variances.
  • Risk & Governance: Maintain Risk & Opportunity Registers and support Internal Controls on Financial Reporting (ICFR) as well as audit requirements.
  • Transactions & Variations: Capture costs for Additional Services, Claims, and Variation Orders; manage GRIR balances, customer invoicing, debt collection, and supplier invoice queries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize financial reporting through digital tools, automation, and Copilot.
About You
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in project accounting, financial reporting, cost controlling, or management accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SAP accounting systems (e.g., Spiridon) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Financial Knowledge: Proven understanding of core accounting principles, accruals, cost centres, month-end routines, and cost forecasting.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Digital Mindset: Practical mindset for process automation and familiarity with digital tools like Microsoft Copilot.
