Overview

Finance Assistant. Location: Scunthorpe | Full-Time |

Main Purpose of the Role: To support the efficient operation of the organisation's financial systems by performing essential administrative and accounting tasks. The Finance Assistant will assist with day-to-day financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of financial activities.

Responsibilities
  • Process purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Respond to and manage a variety of customer, supplier, and employee queries.
  • Assist in the payment of suppliers and ensure timely processing of transactions.
  • Support the monthly payroll and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) processes.
  • Provide administrative support, including handling departmental email inboxes, assisting with credit control, and maintaining accurate financial documentation and reports.
  • Process weekly timesheets and mileage claims.
  • Record and process credit card transactions in line with company policy.
  • Perform ad hoc financial and administrative duties as required to support the Finance Team.
