We have a vacancy for a Finance Assistant to join our fantastic Finance team so, if you’re experienced in managing purchase ledgers, performing bank reconciliations and supporting month-end financial processes, we’d love to hear from you!

***This is a hybrid role requiring you to be on-site in Capenhurst near Chester (CH1 6ES) 3 days per week***

About the role:
  • Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring supplier invoices and credit notes are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of supplier accounts
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, investigating and resolving unmatched transactions
  • Ensure accurate cashbook postings and provide support on any queries raised
  • Assist with month-end processes and reporting, including journal preparation and general ledger reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and audit requirements
  • Own the production of ESG reporting
  • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to ensure smooth workflow and support during audits, financial reviews and ad hoc finance projects
What we'll need from you:
  • Experience in purchase ledger and bank/general ledger reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g Sage, SAP or similar)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong project planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, from trial balance to production of accounts
  • AAT qualified (Level 4)
