Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Finance Assistant for a temporary to permanent role in Birmingham. You will support the finance team by ensuring timely and accurate reporting and financial transactions. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of accounting procedures, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Good communication skills by phone, email, and face to face.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Updating daily cashbook and posting journals on Sage.
  • Reconciling and posting credit card transactions.
  • Processing Supplier Invoices on Sage and dealing with queries.
  • Receipting and reconciling customer receipts and vendor payments.
  • Processing payments (GBP, USD, EUR) on banking portal.
  • Month end reconciliations of suppliers and customers statements.
  • Payment of staff expenses and reconciling.
  • Raising Overrides/Rebate Invoices on Sage.

Finance Assistant required for a role on the Birmingham Business Park. You will be working within a finance team to provide support in ensuring that reporting and financial transactions are up to date, timely and accurate.

Main Duties
  • Updating daily cashbook and posting corresponding journals on Sage
  • Reconciling and Posting credit card transactions
  • Processing Supplier Invoices on to Sage and dealing with any queries
  • Receipting and reconciling customer receipts and vendor payments
  • Processing payments (GBP, USD, EUR) on banking portal via different modes
  • Month end reconciliations of suppliers and customers statements
  • Payment of staff expenses and reconciling the same
  • Raising Overrides / Rebate Invoices on Sage
Personal Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
  • Good communication skills by phone, email and face to face
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and prioritise tasks

This role is to start immediately and it will be a temporary to permanent role for the right person.
