Finance and Procurement Manager

Location: Houghton Le Spring
Salary: up to £36,000
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

We re seeking an experienced Finance and Procurement Manager to play a key role in managing the financial health and procurement operations of a leading manufacturing business.

This position would suit a detail-oriented professional who enjoys combining strategic financial oversight with hands-on procurement management. You ll work closely with the leadership team to ensure the business remains financially robust, cost-effective, and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all daily financial operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business objectives.
  • Manage supplier contracts, negotiations, and relationships to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Implement and monitor procurement strategies aligned to company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial and purchasing strategies.
About You
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Finance and Procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and procurement regulations (UK and international).
  • Proficiency with MRP or financial management systems.
  • Professional qualifications such as AAT or CIPS are preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership and analytical abilities, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
