Job summary

SF Partners are recruiting a Finance Analyst - Banking & Cash Management to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis with a hybrid pattern, based in Nottingham. The role requires practical SAP experience and a strong background in banking reconciliations and month-end accounting, to support cash balances and management reporting.

You will monitor bank balances, post month-end entries in SAP, and contribute to process improvements within the wider finance function.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Financials (S/4HANA or ECC) and banking transactions.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Experience with month-end close and cash reconciliations.
• Background in banking, reconciliations and month-end accounting.
• AAT Level 4 or equivalent is required.

SF Partners are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst - Banking & Cash Management to join a busy finance team, working a hybrid pattern on a temporary basis until the end of December, with the potential to extend depending on business requirements. SAP experience essential.

Salary: £30,000

Location: Nottingham

Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week Hybrid - 2 days in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday)

Contract: Temporary until the end of December, with potential to extend

This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional with SAP experience and a strong background in banking, reconciliations and month-end accounting. You'll be supporting the wider finance function, ensuring cash balances are accurate, discrepancies are investigated and financial information is reported in a timely manner.

Banking & reconciliations

• Monitoring daily bank balances and cash positions.
• Reconciling bank accounts and cash balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Carrying out monthly cash reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
• Managing mismatches, aged balances and out-of-balance positions through to resolution.
• Supporting banking transactions and responding to bank-related queries.

Month-end & financial accounting

• Preparing and posting month-end journal entries in SAP.
• Preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations for cash accounts.
• Ensuring reconciliation items are appropriately supported, reviewed and cleared.
• Providing analysis and commentary on cash balances and variances to support management reporting.

Systems & process improvement

• Using SAP tools and reports to support reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate financial data and clear audit trails.
• Working in line with internal controls and supporting audit requirements.
• Supporting system changes, testing and process improvements within the wider finance function.

About you:

We're looking for someone with a good grounding in accounting who is confident working with banking transactions, reconciliations and month-end activities. Practical SAP experience is essential, alongside strong Excel skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution. You may be an Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, R2R Accountant or Senior Finance Officer looking for a temporary opportunity where you can make an immediate contribution.

You'll ideally have:

• Practical experience using SAP - SAP S/4HANA or ECC exposure would be beneficial, but experience in other SAP environments is welcome.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, cash management or banking transactions.
• Experience posting journals and supporting month-end close.
• Experience preparing or maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• AAT Level 4 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
