Finance Analyst required for an established and highly visited Charity in Surrey. Please note this is a 6 month interim vacancy.
Description
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Manage end-to-end forecasting, budgeting, and annual financial planning processes for the retail business unit.
- Financial Modelling: Design, build, and maintain complex financial models (e.g., for valuation, new initiatives, M&A, capital projects) to evaluate costs, project profits, and assess risk.
- Performance Analysis: Produce timely and detailed analysis on sales, costs, and overall business performance, including variance analysis (comparing actuals to budget/forecast) and identifying trends.
- Strategic Insight & Recommendation: Interpret financial and non-financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management for improving business performance, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., commercial, operations, marketing) to align financial goals, gather data, and ensure financial models reflect overall business objectives.
- Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and present clear, concise financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to stakeholders, translating complex financial data into easily understandable information for non‑financial audiences.
- Market & Industry Analysis: Monitor retail market trends, economic indicators, and competitor performance to incorporate into financial models and strategic planning.
- Process Improvement: Identify and drive improvements in financial processes and reporting tools, potentially through the use of automation or new software, to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Profile
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant
- Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, ideally with specific experience in the retail or FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel proficiency is essential, with experience in building and maintaining complex financial models.
