Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of their organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

This role is home based with monthly visits to the client’s office based in Solihull required. This is a full time role working Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Assist with credit control and chasing outstanding payments
  • Process payments, receipts, and petty cash
  • Help prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as required
  • Respond to finance-related queries from internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role is essential
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • AAT qualification (studying or completed) is advantageous
