Jobstore are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our client's finance team near Accrington. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. The right candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking and self-motivated person to support the Financial Manager as part of a small team and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Duties
  • Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate financial records across accounting software platforms especially Sage.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain organised documentation for all financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Utilise Workday for managing financial data and reporting functions.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable, ideally within a distribution setting.
  • The post holder should be partly qualified CIMA (or equivalent) or working towards, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate the required competencies.
  • The post holder is required to be computer literate with a working knowledge of company bespoke software (ideally Sage 200, however Microsoft Office is essential).
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
