Mechanical Assembly Technician - Motherwell

£16.17 per hour | Mon-Thurs | Permanent

We're looking for a time-served technician or qualified apprentice to join a busy manufacturing team in Motherwell. This is a hands‑on role involving mechanical assembly, fault finding, and system diagnostics.

What you'll be doing
  • Assembling and fitting parts to spec using hand/power tools
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across electrical, hydraulic, engine, brake, and cooling systems
  • Using workshop equipment like overhead cranes and hydraulic presses
  • Supporting inspections and resolving non-conformances
  • Interpreting technical drawings and diagnostic plans
  • Driving completed machines for transport
What we need from you
  • Relevant mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable with diagnostic tools and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands‑on approach
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Bonus if you've worked with similar machinery or in a lean manufacturing setup
