Final Inspector – Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd.

We are looking for a diligent and detail‑oriented Final Inspector to join our team at Independent Forgings and Alloys, a leading provider of high integrity, critical components to demanding global industries such as Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Off Highway and Industrial Processing. The Final Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring all finished products meet our strict quality, safety, and customer specifications before dispatch.


Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Production Lead in our Non‑Destructive Testing Department (NDT) you will ensure all finished products meet the required quality, dimensional, and safety standards before dispatch, maintaining IFA’s reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction. This is a days‑based position, working 37 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime and a competitive benefits package.


A typical day may include:


  • Carrying out detailed visual and dimensional inspections on finished products

  • Marking components using the PortaDot stamping machine and Vibro Etch system

  • Checking products against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements

  • Using a range of precision tools to check dimensions, verify tolerances, confirm accuracy and assess surface finish for irregularities

  • Recording inspection results and completing all relevant quality documentation

  • Identifying and reporting any non‑conformance

  • Packaging of products ready for despatch

  • Ensuring all inspection activities are carried out safely and in line with IFA procedures

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping to maintain ISO quality standards

  • Operating in accordance with the company’s Operating System, attending daily DSUM meetings and contributing to visual management boards by providing timely and accurate updates on workload status, task completion and any issues affective delivery.
