They want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories they share.

Location: HM Tower of London
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,163 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week. This job requires a high amount of out of hours work as much of our filming can only take place when the palaces are closed to visitors.

Closing Date: 8 December 2025

The palaces in their care are much in demand as filming locations for news, documentary and large-scale film crews. They are looking for a Filming Assistant to act as the first point of contact for small-scale filming enquiries across their six sites, organising recces, co‑ordinating the filming diary with colleagues in operations, conservation and events, and supervising filming on the ground to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will also assist the Filming Manager with large scale filming projects (e.g. TV series, feature films) as required.

In all of your work, you will seek to help them achieve its charitable aims – maintaining their reputation as an authoritative voice on the history of the sites in their care and bringing their stories to as wide an audience as possible, in a variety of ways. You’ll also seek to drive income through filming that supports our work conserving and caring for the palaces.

Bringing impeccable organisational skills, enthusiasm and creativity to the Media and PR team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of overseeing external film crews across their six sites. Self‑motivated, you will be a team player who can juggle a busy workload and communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues at all levels, as well as production and broadcast partners.

  • Relevant experience in film / TV, events management or PR / Communications.
  • Experience working in a busy environment, dealing with incoming enquiries.
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise and deal with reactive requests.
  • Reasonable knowledge of the workings of broadcast media, production companies and film crews.
  • An understanding of the importance of conservation when filming in heritage sites – respect for historic environments.
  • A strong interest in culture/ heritage or interest in the media/ Film / TV production.

They are an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.

They are also committed to high quality Safeguarding practices and to ensure everyone is kept safe in their palaces. They have procedures in place to ensure this commitment is delivered and will deal firmly and swiftly with anyone representing their charity who does not meet their required standards.
