Title: Field Service Technician

Location: York/Hull

Position Summary & Key Areas Of Responsibility
  • To diagnose faults, make repairs and replace modules on EPOS, Self‑Checkouts, PCs, kiosks, and associated peripherals.
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repairs on equipment within an assigned territory/region to ensure continuity of customer operations and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Own customer problems or incidents until resolved to the customer’s satisfaction and/or in compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • May require prolonged travel, carrying and lifting a tool kit/parts of varying weights; may involve bending, squatting, walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage time effectively and pro‑actively.
  • Company vehicle with fuel card provided for personal use (BIK and usage fee per mile applies).
  • Tools, laptop, Android phone and all other required tools are provided.
  • Uniform and PPE provided.
Candidates Profile And Qualifications
  • A Full UK manual driving licence is mandatory.
  • Experience preferred in break/fix, IT, computer/mechanical repair and basic computer hardware and software knowledge; full training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • Experience preferred with Windows operating systems.
  • Experience preferred in general PC hardware and software maintenance.
  • Works well with minimal supervision, good problem‑solving skills, ability to pick up new skills quickly and work under pressure.
  • High level of mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer‑facing relationship skills required.
  • Flexibility to work early and late shifts, including some weekends and rotating shifts.
