A leading supplier of packaging solutions is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service and maintain packaging and converting equipment across the UK. Qualifications

Field Service Technician (Packaging & Converting Equipment)
Field based with national coverage
Salary circa £45,000 salary plus benefits incl. car, enhanced pension contributions, 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays

We’re working with a well-established supplier of packaging and converting equipment and become part of a team that keeps world-class machinery running smoothly across the UK and occasionally overseas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong electrical or mechanical background and proven experience working on FMCG equipment — ideally with exposure to packaging, converting, injection moulding or print finishing machinery.

The Role
  • Provide on-site service, repair, and maintenance of packaging and converting equipment.
  • Carry out fault finding, software upgrades, electrical repairs, and work with PLCs and inverters
  • Assist with off-loading, installation, and commissioning of new machinery at customer sites
  • Deliver operator training and demonstrations as needed
  • Conduct detailed surveys and provide clear reports with recommended parts
  • Maintain high safety standards and report hazards appropriately
  • Represent the business professionally at every customer visit
The Person
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering background, with hands-on experience gained in a field environment
  • Experience in servicing or repairing packaging, converting or print finishing machinery highly desirable
  • Strong fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills, including PLCs and inverters
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK and Europe (occasional overnight stays)
