Job summary

A Service Technician in Birmingham is sought to install, maintain and service specialist equipment across customer sites in the UK. The role emphasizes fault finding and timely repairs with a strong focus on keeping equipment running and downtime to a minimum.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, use drawings and service information, and provide guidance on operation and maintenance both on-site and remotely.

Qualifications

• All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.
• Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service equipment at customer sites throughout the UK
• Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and routine servicing to maintain equipment performance
• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Use technical drawings, schematics and service information to identify and resolve equipment issues
• Provide customers with guidance on equipment operation and basic maintenance, both on-site and remotely where appropriate
• Complete service reports, maintenance records and customer documentation accurately
• Identify requirements for spare parts, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance
• Support equipment refurbishment, modification and improvement projects
• Work closely with engineering, technical support and project teams to resolve customer issues efficiently
• Represent the business professionally and maintain strong working relationships with customers
• Follow all relevant health, safety and quality procedures
