Qualifications

What the role will involve

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented technician to provide quality service and repair across our UK and Canadian division, WESCAM. The most important objective for this role is to provide quality service and repair of airborne surveillance turrets across the WESCAM product portfolio, and to provide first‑class training and demo support to a diverse customer base.

  • Maintain accurate service records, including reports on maintenance activities, service calls, and inventory management
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and electronic faults to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support customer needs and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesDocument Non‑Conformances (NCR’s)
  • Install software and firmware in accordance with instructions
  • Participate in/lead customer demos and training
  • Provide regular status reports and update documentation as required
  • Set up manual and ATE test sites in accordance with PTS instructions
  • Upon request, support WASC EFFA and QA investigations by providing repair event information
What you'll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Proven experience in field service engineering or a similar role, ideally within the aviation or manufacturing sector
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering
  • Strong electro‑mechanical background and troubleshooting techniques
  • The ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Competence with hand tools, wiring and soldering to IPC standard
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
