Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Field Service Technician in Darlaston, UK. The ideal candidate will conduct preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on various vehicles, including HGVs and tractors. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct callouts for repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown services.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT.
  • Perform engine work and diagnostic investigations.
  • Conduct electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Job description
Field Service Technician

Day shifts – Monday to Friday, 45 hour week. Your commute is from your front door to your fully expensed and kitted out Light Commercial Vehicle.

In this role, no two days will ever be the same. The products you work on are diverse: HGVs, Ground Support GSE, RORO (Roll on Roll Off), Fire and rescue, Tractors and Tugs, plus other bespoke operating platforms.

  • Pre‑arranged servicing at rural sites
  • MOT Preparation
  • Engine work and diagnostic investigations
  • Correction of running defects
  • Chassis and fabrication work
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Improvement of vehicle standards
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician or accredited via an authorised Apprenticeship.
  • A Class 2 Licence would be beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of vehicle technology and the ability to follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion.
  • Abiding by health and safety rules.
