Job summary

4tify is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support installation, maintenance and commissioning of low and medium-voltage switchgear systems. The role blends workshop work with field visits to customer sites across the UK, with travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in electrical control panel wiring or a related electrical engineering role.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematic drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in electrical installation, inspection, testing and fault diagnosis.
• Practical experience with cable termination, crimping, looming and control panel assembly.
• Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification (City & Guilds 2330 or equivalent).
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and modify low and medium-voltage switchgear and electrical distribution systems.
• Install and commission new electrical panels, switchgear and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematic drawings, wiring diagrams and wiring schedules.
• Wire control panels, fit base plates, loom cables and carry out crimping and cable termination.
• Ensure all work complies with safety procedures, quality standards and engineering specs.
• Liaise with customers on-site to identify faults and provide effective solutions.
• Ensure materials, tools and equipment are available for service activities.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team and take responsibility for individual tasks.
