Job summary

TRS Consulting advertises a Field Service Engineer role focused on diagnostic systems. The position covers service, installation, breakdown, repair and calibration of advanced laboratory equipment in NHS/clinical settings. You will support flow cytometry and related diagnostics products at customer sites.

The package includes a company car, pension, healthcare, life insurance, phone and laptop, plus weekend rotas with time off. Weekend in four with two alternative days off.

Qualifications

• Field service or technical support background in electronics or electro‑mechanical service.
• Experience with high value electronics capital equipment, microscopy, lasers, x-ray or biomedical tech is advantageous.
• ONC or HNC level (or higher) in electronics or relevant technical discipline.
• Impeccable customer service skills for customer facing environments.

The role will involve working one weekend in four (during this week you will receive two alternative days off work).

Responsibilities

• Service, installation, breakdown, repair and calibration of a wide range of sophisticated laboratory diagnostic systems utilized within pathology departments, NHS laboratories and clinical chemistry environments.
• Support flow cytometry, cell separation and diagnostics products located at customer sites.

Qualifications

• A strong background working in a field service or technical support role, gained within an electronics or electro‑mechanical service or technical support background.
• Applications are welcomed from a wide variety of backgrounds including high value electronics capital equipment, microscopy, cameras, lasers, x‑ray security detection, ex‑forces (weapons guidance, radar, avionics or biomedical engineering), medical device, biomedical engineering, pathology laboratory diagnostics and laboratory device.
• Qualified to a minimum ONC / HNC level or above in electronics or another relevant technical discipline.
• Impeccable customer service skills and the ability to remain confident in customer facing environments.
