Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is partnering with a well-established company for a field-based Electrical Engineer role focusing on Instrumentation, PLC control and automation systems in the marine industry. The role is primarily field-based with 80% installation work and 20% fault-finding, requiring travel across the UK and occasional international assignments, including Australia, Dubai and the USA. Excellent earning potential with overtime and career progression.

Qualifications

• Requires practical hands-on engineer with track record in electronics or electrical service/maintenance in an industrial setting.
• Understanding of instrumentation and PLC control would be an advantage.
• Must be prepared to travel and stay away as required.

Responsibilities

• 80% scheduled electrical/electronic installation, commissioning and refit projects across the UK (away 10–14 days).
• 20% reactionary fault finding and repair on instrumentation, PLC controls and automation equipment.
• Occasional international project work (approx. 6 weeks/year) including trips to Australia, Dubai and the USA.
