Job description

The role of Analytical Field Service Engineer is responsible for overall support of our customers installed base to insure customers expectations are met and exceeded to the highest level of professionalism. The individual will be responsible for a variety of duties within a defined territory, onsite at customer locations. You will be required to manage the service needs of our installed customer base for analytical products, including first line maintenance and repair services, site installation, commissioning, start-up and after sales support.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Carry out installation/commissioning, fault analysis and repairs on Emerson Process Management equipment, including investigation of persistent or not easily resolvable problems being experienced at customer sites;
  • Provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, calibration and start up and commissioning services
  • To provide on-site customer training where required;
  • Be available to support the on-call Rota;
  • To assist Sales Engineers in the demonstration of Emerson Process Management products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service;
  • Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities;
  • Reporting performance measures on lead generation;
  • Completion of all required reports, certificates and relevant documents;
  • Full understanding of various service programs;
  • Assist in the preparation of support literature for Sales opportunities;
  • Be flexible to work throughout the British Isles, offshore or abroad and work unsociable hours including weekends where mutually agreeable to support customers.

You are a technically skilled and customer-focused engineer who thrives in field-based roles. You are organized, resourceful, and able to work independently in fast-paced environments. Your strong communication skills and problem-solving approach enable you to build trust with clients while providing timely and efficient service.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • HNC/level or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline, such as electronics, computer science or control engineering;
  • Relevant experience as an Engineer in a process control environment with a particular emphasis on installation, commissioning and start-up;
  • Experience in repair and servicing of Emerson Process Management and/or competitor products would be an advantage;
  • Effectively communicates customer needs and opportunities;
  • Develops and executes effective strategies and tactics to support customer needs;
  • An understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning;
  • Demonstrable experience in promoting the value of service contracts;
  • Must have clear and effective communication skills verbal and written;
  • Be prepared to travel as required;
  • Full UK driving license;
