Astute's Renewables Team is exclusively partnering with a leading business in the UK's transition to electric vehicles. We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain a network of EV chargers along with specific EV forecourts too. Their power comes from renewable energy sources too, so this is a chance to join the green revolution and contribute to a greener world here in the UK. The role is regional across the North of England, connecting the North East to the North West through major motorways such as the A1(M) and M6.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Area Manager you will:

  • Undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
  • Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
  • Carry out site surveys requests as required
  • Compile accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, high voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
  • Ensure that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
  • Comply with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping
  • Comply with all aspects of the company's ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001 / Environmental - ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme
  • Travelling throughout your region and perhaps, on the odd occasion, further to provide holiday or sickness cover
Professional qualifications
  • At least a level 2 electrical installation qualification
  • Test and inspection certified, C&G 2391
  • UK driving licence with, ideally, a clean licence
  • Experience servicing and maintaining EV chargers is hugely beneficial
  • Good fault-finding experience/knowledge
