Job summary

TMS (UK) LTD. in Glasgow is seeking a responsible Driver/Operator to collect abandoned trolleys across varied locations, including parks and canals. You will repair and refurbish customer trolleys, input collection data on handheld devices, and support night-away assignments with sleeper van use.

A valid UK driving licence, physical fitness and a proactive attitude are essential. Overtime is available, with a company pension and free on-site parking provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (ideally a clean licence).
• Ability to operate and enter information on handheld devices.
• Physical capability to lift and move trolleys manually.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• Willingness to spend nights away from home and share a room when working away.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routes collecting abandoned trolleys from various environments.
• Carry out repairs, maintenance, installations and refurbishment to trolleys and equipment.
• Return trolleys to customer stores and liaise with Store Manager as needed.
• Input accurate information of collections onto handheld devices.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and comply with health & safety rules.
• Work O/T as required and use sleeper van when away from home.

Job description

• Carry out specific routes collecting abandoned trolleys, from a range of environments, including parks, rivers and canals to name a few.
• Carry out all manners of repairs, maintenance, installations and refurbishment to customer shopping trolleys and associated equipment when required.
• Provide holiday cover on a rotational basis for other work colleagues.
• Return trolleys to customer stores and liaise with the Store Manager where necessary.
• Input accurate and timely information of collections onto hand-held mobile devices.
• Conducting additional ad hoc duties as may be required in meeting business needs, relative to the purpose of the role and needs of the customer
• To undertake all necessary daily checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.
• To comply with all Health & Safety requirements applicable to the role, and whilst in the depot, on the road and at third party premises.
• To take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
• Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
• Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum.

Qualifications / Job Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence (ideally a clean licence is preferred)
• Technical ability to fully operate & enter timely information onto hand-held-devices
• Physical capability to lift and move trolleys manually
• Must be self motivated with a can-do attitude
• You will also be required to spend nights away from home, covering jobs at various locations.
• You will be required to utilise a Sleeper Van when working away from home where a hotel is not available.
• You will be required to share a room with another colleague when working away

Hours of Work:

• 40 hour contract
