Job summary

JBT Marel, a global food technology leader, seeks a Commercial Gas Safe Field Service Engineer. You will maintain, service and repair gas-fired industrial food processing equipment at customer sites across the UK and Ireland, ensuring safe, compliant operation and exceptional service.

You’ll perform diagnostics, respond to breakdowns, commission new systems, and keep thorough safety and compliance documentation, communicating clearly with customers and coordinating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• CDGA1 and/or CIGA1 Gas Safe certification (essential)
• Proven experience servicing or commissioning commercial gas systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland with overnight stays and occasional international travel
• Autonomous field engineer with a safety-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled service, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial gas systems
• Respond to breakdowns, identify faults quickly and implement solutions
• Commission new gas-fired systems in food processing environments
• Complete service documentation, safety checks, and compliance reports
• Communicate findings, solutions, and preventive maintenance to customers

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Commercial Gas Safe Field Service Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing gas fired industrial food processing equipment at customer sites across the UK and Ireland. You’ll ensure gas systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with regulations — all while delivering exceptional service and support.

• Perform scheduled service, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial gas systems (CDGA1/CIGA1)
• Respond to breakdowns, identifying faults quickly and implementing effective solutions
• Commission new gas fired systems in food processing environments
• Complete service documentation, safety checks, and compliance reports
• Communicate clearly with customers about findings, solutions, and preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to ensure seamless service delivery

• Comfortable working independently in the field
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland with overnight stays as well as occasional international travel
• Domestic Gas Safe Candidates with relevant experience will be considered
