Do you take pride in fixing problems and helping customers get back on the road? Our client is looking for a hands‑on, customer focused Field Service Engineer to join their team!
You’ll be out and about, servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles across customer sites and company workshops.
Hours: 45 hours per week | between 08:00 and 17:30 | Monday to Friday | Flexible working hours available
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
- Perform servicing and maintenance to a high standard
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department of Transport regulations
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve technical issues
- Accurately record all work using PDA software and maintain service documentation
- Travel to customer sites across the UK — occasionally at short notice
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and professional working environment
- Communicate effectively with customers, delivering exceptional service and support
- Follow all health and safety procedures and complete risk assessments as required
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, HGV Mechanic, or Workshop Engineer
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities
- Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards
- Self‑motivated and confident working independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexible with travel and working hours
- Competent with basic computer systems and technical documentation
- (Desirable) Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence
