Role Summary

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll provide onsite technical support and maintenance for our range of machinery. Your primary focus will be ensuring equipment remains in optimal working condition through scheduled servicing, repairs, and inspections. You'll serve as the face of our company in the field—delivering expert technical service and outstanding customer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on a variety of machines, both onsite and offsite.
  • Independently troubleshoot mechanical and technical faults to minimize machine downtime.
  • Complete job cards, service reports, and timesheets accurately and within set timeframes.
  • Request and manage parts efficiently to support repair and maintenance activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Support and supervise Apprentices when required, ensuring safe working practices and high-quality standards.
  • Follow all company procedures related to equipment repair, inspection, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure personal tools are safe, compliant, and maintained to legal standards.
  • Use only company-provided lifting equipment (e.g., straps, trolley jacks).
  • Uphold company health and safety policies and take responsibility for the wellbeing of yourself, coworkers, and customers.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in servicing heavy tracked plant machinery (e.g., JCB equipment).
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex technical issues, often involving work in physically demanding conditions (e.g., climbing, heavy lifting, lone working).
  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and commercial awareness.
  • Highly efficient, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
