This role:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our growing Amplify Technical team. This role suits someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.

Responsibilities
  • Commissioning of EV Chargers: Commission and configure AC, Rapid DC, and HPC EV chargers at client premises. Perform initial setup and testing to verify proper functionality and adherence to industry regulations. Work closely with project management and installation teams to integrate charging stations effectively into client systems.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Execute scheduled and preventative maintenance on EV charging infrastructure to maximise reliability and availability. Identify and resolve technical faults involving electrical, mechanical, and software elements. Carry out diagnostic assessments, firmware upgrades, and calibrations as needed. Swap out defective parts, ensuring all repairs align with manufacturer specifications.
  • Customer Support: Deliver hands-on technical assistance and training to clients regarding EV charger usage and functionality. Address service calls efficiently while keeping clients informed to enhance satisfaction. Log all service tasks, such as repairs, maintenance, and client engagements, within the service management platform.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply fully with safety protocols and company guidelines during field operations. Maintain alignment with local electrical standards and codes in all commissioning and maintenance work. Engage in ongoing safety training and certification programs as mandated.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven track record in field service engineering, with a preference for experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Maximum 3 points).
  • Level 3 Electro-technical qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant electrical certifications, such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391/2394 for Testing and Inspection (desirable).
  • Certification in EV charging stations or manufacturer-specific training is advantageous.
  • Desirable experience commissioning, maintaining, and repairing AC, Rapid DC, and HPC EV chargers; experience with BP Pulse EV chargers is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation; solid knowledge of analogue and digital electronics fundamentals and components.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage travel between client locations efficiently.
  • Aware of electrical hazards and on-site health and safety protocols (desirable).

What you’ll have a proven track record of
