Field Service Engineer - Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield

Pay: £32,680.00 - £38,300.00 per year

Location: North (various sites across the region of Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to carry out maintenance, servicing, and repair work on a range of diesel generators. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business that provides critical power solutions across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned maintenance and servicing on customer-owned and rental generators.
  • Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring timely resolution and minimising downtime.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess service needs.
  • Participate in the on‑call rota, providing out‑of‑hours support when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and ISO standards.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (City & Guilds, BTEC or apprenticeship).
  • Proven experience in servicing and repairing generator sets (e.g., FG Wilson, Cummins, or similar).
  • Strong fault‑finding skills and ability to work independently.
  • Previous field service experience is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • ECS/CSCS or CCNSG card beneficial (training provided if needed).
