Opportunity

My client is looking for a field service engineer to work on a range of mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment. They are a successful independent company that design and manufacture, install, commission and service their own and third‑party equipment for a range of clients in the UK engineering and manufacturing sector.

Experience working on special purpose equipment and industrial machinery is ideal – mechanical skills and the ability to work safely on electrical equipment is important. Ideally you will also be able to work on hydraulics or pneumatics.

They have a strong customer base, a reputation for excellence and a growing demand for their services, so they need an additional Field Service Technician to join them. If you have the right core skills and attitude they will give you ongoing product and technical training.

Role
  • Carry out field service visits on equipment at customers’ premises throughout the UK – occasional overnight stays are required.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and equipment upgrades.
  • Fault‑find equipment and resolve problems working closely with in‑house engineering teams.
  • Work in a structured manner with high attention to detail.
To apply
  • Good hands‑on engineering skills, able to work with mechanical, some electrical and ideally hydraulic / pneumatic components and systems.
  • A passion for engineering, understanding how machines work.
  • A keen interest in learning and developing your skills as you will work alongside other engineers and learn from them.
  • Able to work independently on customer sites.
  • Conduct and present yourself in a professional and respectful manner, and be reliable and able to work autonomously.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to undertake UK travel and some overnight stays are essential to this role.
  • Product training will be given to the successful candidate.
