Field Service Engineer – Leicester – £25,000 - £35,000 PA

Do you have a keen interest in building a hands on career within engineering and are looking for your first or second role in industry then this opportunity could be perfect for you. Working with a small family run engineering firm the owner is looking to take a engineer under his wing and train this person on the job in a Field Service Engineer position.

Specialising within the food machinery industry this role would suit someone who is looking to build a career within repair, service and installation of food machinery equipment, travelling around the local counties to manage a portfolio of engineering clients.

Field Service Engineer's Key Responsibilities

• Support the company director in conducting on-site repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance for Metal Detector, Checkweigher, and X-Ray inspection equipment, ensuring high first-time fix rates and customer satisfaction
• Travel to customer sites within the assigned region, performing diagnostics, testing, and emergency services according to certified procedures
• Liaise with customers to ensure all work is carried out to their satisfaction in line with expectation
• Accurately document all service activities, maintain proper inventory of spare parts, and ensure all company equipment is kept in good working condition
• Follow safety procedures, attend ongoing technical training, and support phone-based troubleshooting as needed

Skills & Experience Required As a Field Service Engineer

• Ideally have a relevant engineering qualification ideally a related degree in electro mechanical specialism
• Must be able to drive and have access to a car with the ability to travel around the local counties with job requirements
• Must be living in Leicester as this is the base location for the position
• Need to be a strong communicator with the willingness to learn
• Need a keen interest in developing a career within electro mechanical engineering
• Need to have the full right to work in the UK
