Service Engineer

The Opportunity

A growing and established UK engineering service provider is seeking a Service Engineer to join their field-based team supporting a wide customer base across industrial, commercial, logistics, and manufacturing environments. This is a key role within the organisation, providing a mix of installation, maintenance, and responsive repair work on a broad range of industrial weighing systems.

This position would suit a hands‑on engineer with strong electro‑mechanical skills, a passion for problem‑solving, and the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience while working independently in the field.

Role Responsibilities
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance, calibration, and service schedules
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns and diagnosing faults on‑site
  • Repairing weighing equipment and associated electro‑mechanical components
  • Installing new equipment and supporting commissioning and customer handover
  • Providing professional customer support and technical guidance when required
  • Maintaining accurate service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation
  • Managing vehicle stock effectively and ensuring parts and tools are kept to required standards
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience working with industrial weighing systems or similar electro‑mechanical equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and technical problem‑solving skills
  • Previous field service, maintenance, or technical support experience
  • Confident working independently and managing workload
  • Good communication and customer‑facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience with calibration, industrial automation, process control, or instrumentation
  • Exposure to service environments within logistics, manufacturing, or industrial sites
