A leading defence technology company is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Glasgow. You will provide essential support for naval platforms, coordinating on-site activities, assisting with troubleshooting, and maintaining operational documentation. The role requires SC Clearance and offers opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic environment. Candidates must have a strong background in complex systems and excellent communication skills.
Thales UK provide a support service to a range of RN systems. The Field Services Engineer will provide dedicated support for the Optronics Mast Visual System at the dockside on submarine platforms based at Faslane Naval base and at the Glasgow site.
The selected candidate will be expected to absorb a significant amount of information, provided via a combination of bespoke and on‑the‑job training, over an extended period of time, to increase expertise in the detailed operation of these complex systems. The candidate will therefore need to be highly motivated and committed to this long‑term role.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
