Job Summary

As a Field Service Engineer at Industrial Blower Services, you will be responsible for the mechanical repair, service, hire, installation, and commissioning of rotating plant equipment, including blowers, vacuum pumps and related systems. Your role will primarily involve mechanical work, with potential for electrical tasks if applicable to your skills. You will be required to travel to customer sites across the UK, conducting maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical repairs, servicing, installations and commissioning of blowers, vacuum pumps, and rotating plant equipment at customer locations.
  • Conduct site surveys for equipment upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
  • Carry out routine tasks such as oil changes, belt adjustments, bearing lubrication and seal/gasket replacements.
  • Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults on a wide range of blower and vacuum technologies.
  • Remove and reinstall equipment as needed, including the management of hire equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and site‑specific health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Complete service reports, Risk and Method Statements (RAMS), and other necessary documentation.
  • Liaise with customer engineers and site managers to discuss technical issues and solutions.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or defects immediately.
  • Attend customer‑specific and industry‑required training as needed.
  • You will receive appropriate training and support to perform your duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognised engineering qualification.
  • Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards applicable to mechanical engineering.
  • Good computer literacy is essential with knowledge of Microsoft Office suites.
  • Competent in electrical or control system experience is advantageous but not required.
