The Opportunity

Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a passion for engines and hands‑on maintenance? On behalf of our client, Ford & Stanley Talentwise we are hiring experienced professionals to support the servicing, maintenance, and overhaul of mission‑critical diesel engines used across the rail, bus, and HGV sectors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high‑performance diesel power units, ensuring reliability and safety in demanding transport environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance on a wide range of diesel engines
  • Conduct full engine overhauls, including strip‑down, rebuild, and testing
  • Diagnose faults using mechanical and diagnostic tools
  • Ensure engines meet performance and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Candidate Essentials
  • Level 3 qualified in relevant industry
  • Proven experience as a mechanically biased technician
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and diagnostics
  • Comfortable with hands‑on fault finding, repair, and testing
  • Background in rail, ex‑forces, plant, or HGV sectors is highly desirable
  • Holds a full UK Driver's License
Qualifications

Level 3 qualified in relevant industry

Desirable

Diesel engine experience on Plant Machinery, HGV/PSVs/Armoured Vehicles
