Job description
SUMMARY

We're looking for self-motivated individuals to join our dedicated team of Service Engineers in the UK to provide the highest level of client service! The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for visiting customer sites to install, troubleshoot and maintain Cytek instruments and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrading and repair of flow cytometers and Cytek products with proficiency in a timely manner.
  • Professionally managing technical needs of customers while delivering service excellence.
  • Maintaining a regular return visit frequency, keeping complete and accurate written and oral records of practical examinations.
  • Identifying customer needs and contributing to improvements in Cytek products.
  • Managing the daily schedule to ensure appropriate priority is placed upon urgent customer needs, while setting customer expectations for issues of less urgency.
  • Connecting with customers in a timely manner during business hours. Professionally communicating technical information to them via telephone technical support, service visit scheduling, product problem information gathering, fault isolation, corrective action, and site visit closure with high quality and efficiency.
  • Completing all business related transactions to include Field Service Reports, Instrument Qualification Reports, Parts Return Tags, etc. in a timely manner (usually within 48 hours) with high accuracy.
  • Managing personal service spare parts inventory to ensure accuracy on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrating the ability to quickly learn new technologies and develop skills in troubleshooting intra-connected complex systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, and/or other technical degree, military training or experience.
  • 2-years experience troubleshooting and repairing Life Science equipment and/or integrated systems (software, optics, fluidics, electronics, etc.).
  • Work experience with the repair or service of electrical or mechanical equipment is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in Flow Cytometry Repair is a plus, but not required.
  • Have a basic understanding of biology as it relates to flow cytometry.
  • Professional level English is a must – other European languages preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This is a full-time position, with evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.
  • This job entails a high volume of traveling – up to 75% of the time. Individual should be able to travel on commercial airlines, train, rental/leased car to fulfill job duties.
  • Individual should be able to lift 12-15kgs with ease, and be able to work in a standing position for 4 hours at a time.
