Job description

Field Sales Executive

Liverpool - Field-based with HQ visits and offsite meetings.

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum plus additional performance-related bonus.

InStore works with retailers, suppliers, and publishers providing field-based merchandising & marketing, supply chain auditing, and compliance solutions.

This role involves driving new retail collection points by selling the Smiths News Recycle offer to independent retail businesses creating dry mixed recycling within specified geographical locations.

If you have experience in field sales and can demonstrate your abilities, you could be a potential candidate to join our field sales team on behalf of our parent company, Smiths News.

This role requires full territory management across a designated area, involving visiting retailers to sell this new service offer. You will be the key person communicating effectively and efficiently.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Drive the service offer to meet KPIs across various retailers, engaging business owners to complete sales.
  2. Develop strong customer relationships within your sales territory and identify new opportunities.
  3. Maintain an entrepreneurial approach.
  4. Complete all relevant calls within the territory plan daily.
  5. Develop a high-performing field mentality to deliver on all KPIs.
  6. Use effective communication to share best practices, keep the Line Manager informed, and drive engagement with customers.
  7. Escalate issues and find resolutions proactively.
  8. Maintain expert knowledge of the service offer to aid successful selling.
  9. Execute tasks to a high standard consistently.
  10. Provide quality, concise feedback to the line manager to support client and retail growth strategies.
  11. Complete administration tasks timely and to a high standard.
  12. Understand the retail landscape for competitive advantage.
  13. Understand how the Smiths News delivery network operates.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience in sales or retail, preferably within FMCG or consumer goods.
  • Brand ambassador experience is a plus.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and sales techniques experience.
  • Experience in remote field activity and achieving sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven success in sales conversions through education.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence and implement change.
  • Ability to document ideas and actions to improve performance.
