Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field-based Industrial Refrigeration technician in the UK. You will diagnose and resolve issues on industrial refrigeration and chiller systems, perform planned maintenance, and produce detailed technical reports while ensuring strict health and safety standards.

The role is Mon–Fri with standby 1 in 5, offering a mobile workload across sites and a strong emphasis on hands-on problem solving and customer service.

Qualifications

• F-GAS 2079 certification and ammonia handling qualification.
• Completed refrigeration apprenticeship and recognised qualification (e.g. C&G).
• Experience with HFC, ammonia, CO₂ systems and brands SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer, Howden.
• Strong knowledge of DX, pumped, flooded, and multistage systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical/fluid diagrams, piping/psychrometric diagrams).
• Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and generate clear, detailed reports.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
