Job summary

A specialist engineering organisation in Farnborough seeks an experienced FPGA Engineer to design and verify FPGA solutions for mission-critical systems. The role requires strong experience in VHDL/Verilog, familiarity with vendor toolchains like Xilinx or Intel, and active SC or DV clearance. You will work closely with skilled engineers to deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to strict engineering standards. Qualifications

Must have proven experience as an FPGA Engineer.
Strong knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog is essential.
Experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGA toolchains is required.

THE FPGA ENGINEER ROLE

As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of FPGA based solutions supporting secure and safety‑critical systems. You will work closely with systems, hardware, and software engineers to deliver robust designs from concept through to integration and test. The role will involve contributing to architecture decisions, implementing high‑quality RTL, and supporting verification and documentation activities in line with rigorous engineering standards.

FPGA ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Proven experience as an FPGA Engineer in a defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated environment
Strong FPGA design experience using VHDL and/or Verilog
Experience with FPGA toolchains from vendors such as Xilinx or Intel
Understanding of verification, test, and debugging of FPGA designs
Ability to work with requirements, design documentation, and engineering standards
