Job summary

Gi Group UK is hiring full time Meter Readers to cover Bristol and surrounding areas. No prior experience required; you will read gas and electric meters close to home, using a handheld device and delivering friendly customer service.

The role offers flexible start times, a 37.5 hour week, weekly pay at £13.45–£14.80 per hour, and a clear progression path with bonus schemes and overtime. Training is provided, and a company pension is included.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Physically fit and able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs and walk 3–5 miles daily.
• Happy to work in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check (no unspent convictions).
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not essential.
• Access to own vehicle.
• Basic business insurance.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial gas and electric meters; full training provided.
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct charge point surveys.
• Drive and stay motivated to work independently.
• Maintain a friendly, professional approach to work.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
