Job summary

Universal Business Team is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to work field-based across Dartford, Kent and Maidstone. You will service, install and troubleshoot portable extinguishers and begin developing skills in fire alarm systems. Travel between sites is required, with door-to-door pay and full training provided.

The role offers a structured progression path within a growing fire protection business, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and long-term development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire extinguisher or alarm servicing.
• Good communication, time management and a customer-first approach.
• Flexibility to travel daily and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Service, install, and troubleshoot portable fire extinguishers at customer sites.
• Learn and develop skills in fire alarm systems – SiteProtect and SiteNet alarms.
• Conduct fire safety surveys and equipment fault-finding.
• Travel from site to site with door-to-door travel paid.
• Complete accurate paperwork via digital systems.
• Work independently and as part of a wider field-based team.
• Join rotating on-call roster after training.
