Field Service Technician - Managed Print Services

📍 Location: Birmingham Field-based | Full-time | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for problem-solving and providing excellent service? Join our dedicated Technical Services team where you'll play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and repairing managed print equipment across our diverse client base.

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing managed print devices to manufacturer our internal standards. You'll deliver high-quality technical support directly on client sites, ensuring uptime, performance, and client satisfaction - all while working safely and efficiently within agreed service levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to field service calls at client premises promptly and effectively.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on-site with minimal disruption to clients.
  • Keep accurate service records using PDA tools and communicate with call control regularly.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and organised spare parts kit (vehicle or on-site).
  • Regularly sync your laptop with our SharePoint cloud system.
  • Attend training sessions (including online modules) to stay up to date with latest products and technologies.
  • Liaise with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Report recurring technical issues and client concerns via our escalation channels.
  • Adhere strictly to client health & safety procedures and site processes.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing monochrome and colour MFPs (low, mid, high volume).
  • Confident with network connectivity and basic printer setup (e.g., installing print drivers, simple network connections).
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
  • Must be eligible to obtain Government and/or Police Security clearance - no exceptions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and to tight deadlines.
  • 'Can Do' attitude with a strong customer service mindset.
