Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC Newry, Northern Ireland is seeking a Blockage Engineer to join the drainage team. You will deploy and operate our specialist drainage fleet, clear blockages, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while minimising disruption to communities.

In this field-based role, you will perform CCTV surveys, identify defects, and work in confined spaces with gas monitors and rescue equipment.

Qualifications

• Field-based drainage experience required.
• Confined space entry and construction safety knowledge.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; customer service experience.
• Must hold a current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate drainage fleet and equipment (high-pressure jetting rigs, vacuum machinery).
• Perform pre-start checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
• Clear blockages and perform routine sewer maintenance tasks.
