The Net Zero Teesside Power project is a pioneering initiative aimed at creating a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape in the UK.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field-Based Civil Engineer to join our team on the Net Zero Teesside Power project, reporting to the lead field CSA engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering activities on-site, ensuring that construction aligns with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark project in the transition to net‑zero emissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Supervision: Oversee civil construction activities on-site, including earthworks, foundations, and drainage systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all civil works are completed to the specified standards, codes, and project requirements. Conduct inspections and quality checks regularly, reporting any NCRs to appropriate QA personnel.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce site safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site. Report and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Coordination & Communication: Liaise with project & construction managers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues, and ensure smooth progress.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports as required.
  • Design & Technical Support: Review civil design drawings and specifications; provide technical support during construction to resolve field issues. Prepare ad‑hoc designs and drawings as required to support construction progress.
  • Environmental & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure civil works adhere to environmental regulations and permits associated with the project.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in civil construction, preferably in large‑scale industrial or energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with earthworks, foundations, and site infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software and tools is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as required by project demands.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Flexibility to support other disciplines i.e. Structural and Buildings.
