Job summary

SSE is seeking a Utility Arborist to join our busy team. This mobile, field-based role requires your base within 30 minutes of Petersfield, Aldershot, Basingstoke depots and a current driving licence.

You will contribute to a planned tree-cutting programme, manage vegetation near the distribution network and perform work safely across voltage levels, with the support of full PPE, tools, and a company vehicle. Overtime and standby payments enhance your earnings.

Qualifications

• Experience in forestry/arboriculture or related field.
• NPTC certificate units for chainsaw use and NPTC/UAs qualification.
• Enthusiasm with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with power lines, climbing is advantageous.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planned tree-cutting programme.
• Manage vegetation near distribution network.
• Carry out tree-cutting operations safely across environments and voltage levels.
• Support safety standards and use PPE and tools provided.
