Job summary

Timely Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Field Asset Officer to join a growing independent utility network owner. This field-based role focuses on inspecting and auditing newly constructed and existing assets, ensuring works meet technical, safety and regulatory standards.

The role is primarily gas-focused, with knowledge of electricity or wider multi-utility infrastructure considered advantageous. You will travel across the Midlands and North, carrying out audits, supervising contractor

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in gas distribution, utility construction, operations or asset assurance.
• Strong knowledge of gas distribution engineering up to 7 Bar.
• Experience with technical inspections, audits or contractor supervision.
• Knowledge of SCO, SHEA Gas, IGEM/G/5, TD/3 and TD/4.
• Experience with RAMS, COSHH and Permits to Work.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Comfortable with extensive regional travel.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and audit newly constructed utility networks prior to adoption.
• Carry out assurance checks on existing assets.
• Ensure contractor works comply with relevant technical and safety standards.
• Review RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
• Identify defects, non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and internal teams.
• Complete accurate inspection and audit documentation.
• Travel across the region, typically visiting multiple sites per day.
