Job summary

Headland Archaeology is seeking a Project Officer to join their Fieldwork department. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from £34,194 to £37,949 per year, based on experience, along with a generous benefits package.

The role involves leading archaeological projects across various sites in the UK, managing a team, and conducting investigations. Candidates should possess at least three years of experience in British commercial archaeology and a degree in a related discipline.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in British commercial archaeology.
• Ability to carry out prolonged manual work in an outdoor environment.
• Experience managing small to medium sized teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological investigations and excavations.
• Supervise plant and manage office-based research, analysis, and reporting.
• Travel to various sites across the UK for project execution.

Skills

Accomplished field archaeologist

Experience in running archaeological projects

Ability to work under pressure

Good organisational skills

Willingness to work away from home

Education

Degree in Archaeology or related subject
