Job summary

Experienced Archaeologists in Andover are invited to join Cotswold Archaeology on six-month fixed-term contracts with immediate start dates. You will perform field investigations, manual excavation, and data recording, with opportunities to work on away projects where accommodation and subsistence are provided.

Salary is £29,844 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, life assurance, CSCS-related support, and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Proven field archaeology experience in commercial British practice.
• Ability to travel and work away on projects with accommodation provided.
• Full manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake archaeological field investigations including manual excavation and data collection.
• Record data using CA procedures with pro-forma sheets, drawings and photos.
• Supervise machine excavation and watching brief as delegated.
• Mentor trainees and support field staff development.
• Assist with rapid excavation and interpretation of findings.
