BUUK Infrastructure is seeking a Fibre Field Technician to support maintenance and incident response for OFNL network across Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding areas. The role is field-based with full training provided and includes on-call duties and adherence to safety procedures.
You will work with NOC and field teams, perform routine maintenance on FTTP equipment, and contribute to service delivery while maintaining professional conduct and strong customer service focus.

This is a field based role covering Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
Full training will be provided.
Field based role facilitating the maintenance and incident response for events on the OFNL network.
Perform routine maintenance of telecoms equipment deployed in our Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) network.
Working for the OFNL wholesale/operational brand and providing support to our Network Operation Centre (NOC) and Field engineering teams.
This position will also require participation in a call out rota to be first responders and carry initial fault diagnosis or maintenance work during out of hours periods including weekends and public holidays.
Contribute to the successful delivery of OFNL services.
Day to day maintenance of OFNL’s network equipment.
Site audits against network design standards and specifications.
Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
Act as an OFNL representative and provide escort for third party access as required.
Provide “remote hands” for NOC engineering teams.
Provide support to field engineers during 2-person activities.
Create and maintain OFNL documentation as required.
Attend training courses and keep up to date with relevant technologies.
Always conduct themselves professionally.
Ability to demonstrate an enthusiastic and energetic approach and a passion for customer service.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and to form good relationships with staff at other levels within the business.
Ability to display initiative, make rational and appropriate decisions.
Proficient in following BU-UK and OFNL procedures.
Capable of solving problems and overcoming obstacles.

Understand and displays positive attitudes to work.
Willing to take on responsibilities, challenges and to learn.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work.
Practical experience using hand held tools
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Demonstrated technical aptitude and willingness to learn
City & Guilds 3667-02.
NRSWA certificate.
Safety underground certificate SA002.
Experience in network maintenance task, GPON/FTTH technology or telecom environment.
Use of an OTDR tester and an ability to analyse results.
Able to adapt to changing work practices and environment.
You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to going into customers’ homes.
You will hold a driving licence.
You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
Cost of living annual pay review.
Company pension contributions up to 10% if employees contribute 5%.
33 days holiday including bank holidays with the ability to purchase an additional 2 weeks.
