Contract runs from mid-November to 4 January 2027. You should be available at least 11 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Training is provided; opportunities for more hours across sites may arise.

• Pour drinks at the bar and serve customers.
• Chat with guests and colleagues to ensure great service.
• Take orders and deliver food to tables in the Dining Room & Snug.
• Assist with hosting events at the upstairs Peacock Room.
• Be flexible to work across busy service periods, including holidays.

Team Member

Hi, I'm Dan, and I'm proud to run the incredible 'Duke of Wellington' on the world-famous Portobello Road! Our pub features in the opening scenes of the 1999 classic 'Notting Hill', but we established ourselves as an iconic part of the neighbourhood during its construction back in 1854 (just two years after the original Duke passed away!) The pub still retains some of her original features including a 360° bar, where tourists from around the world flock from the moment we open our doors, and our fireplaces where you might find Notting Hill locals and the occasional celebrity (Adele signed her first contract here!) relaxing with a drink on a winter's evening.

These features are not the only thing that defines our lovely pub though, as we are constantly building a team of passionate and fun people (like yourself?) to do everything from pouring drinks on our outside bar in summer, to chatting to people from around the world at the bar, to taking orders and bringing food to hungry guests in our Dining Room & Snug, or even to 'hosting' a party at our upstairs bar in the gorgeous Peacock Room.

In the kitchen our team of hard-working & efficient chefs deliver a fully bespoke menu of freshly prepared, premium meals to visitors, regulars and neighbours alike, as well as stunning buffets and canapes for our function guests.

Geo, Declan & Evan lead our Front of House team and can offer all the skills needed to deliver great service no matter how busy we get. On top of all of this, as part of Young's we are keen to develop our people and help them find the next step if they are keen for a career in hospitality.

Christmas is a special time of year at the Duke of Wellington. Every daytime and evening will be beyond buzzing, with parties feasting and celebrating another year gone by in the early weeks, a full house on Christmas Day, all of London's visitors passing by during Twixmas and of course plenty of people to see in a New Year and nurse their heads on New Year's Day.

What we look for in a Festive Team Member:

As the successful member of our team you will have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service every time, with a friendly outgoing personality and desire to work as part of a team. You’ll get lots of training, learn about all our products & have a good time along the way.

This contract will run from your induction in mid-November to the 4th January 2027. If you wish to continue with the team after this then we will be happy to consider you should the vacancy be available, last year two great team members stayed on for a permanent role.

We ask that you be available at least 11 hours per week including evenings and weekends, but there will be opportunity to take on many more hours both here and at other sites if this is something you'd be interested in. Whilst we can offer full training and induction due to the nature of the fast-paced Christmas period experience in a pub role in the past is preferred.

All we ask is that you currently live within a sensible commute distance, and that you are keen to share something interesting about yourself.
